This time, the Sindona’s operations are meaning big games with big boys.

The Sindona’s mistake – start of his long agony- was the intromission in the business of Cefis, a mogul of the Italian finances.  Their fight keeps the financial world breathless.

Cefis was flat to destroy him, also the “Central Bank”. The “Central” cannot avoid anymore the financial checks. In 1971 the inspector’s reports were clear, but nobody care about its.

With Lucio Gelli infusion, Sindona is attacking the Eastern Banks, respective the USSR and the satellite communist countries, according with the new theory of “amicable coexistence”. So, despite the communist’s efforts, also the financial groups around Cefis, the next hit will come from IRS (American financial check – the same institution arresting at his time Al Capone).

In the first phase, Sindona opened a special bank credit of 200 millions of USD, then make a fusion between “Financial Bank” and “Unione Bank” into “Private Italian Bank” in a pale attempt to wash the money.

In October 1974 “Franklin National Bank” (the American bank of Sindona) was declared bankrupt.

In November 1974 the “Private Italian Bank” is declaring bankrupt, and Sindona run away to New York.

The inspectors of the “Central” gave green and they start a real control this time.

With gall Sindona send an open letter to Andreotti, claiming if his financial issues were not be solved, he will make public the real reasons of those. More, he arraign the former prime-minister Fanfani for those 2 millions of pounds donated to Christian-Democratic Party. Meanwhile Sindona is presenting himself like a victim of the communists due his “pro-American”  attitude.
