when omar khyyam sings

When Omar Khayyam sings

The cock crew

Dawn arrived

Sun has risen

in the east

Who knows

how long I will remain

in this beautiful shore

I tread my path

through the agonies

living behind the gloomy past

I have moulded

so many images

life and dreams

but fallen short of

happiness

While pulling on

in this somnambulistic world

a song of Omar Khyyam

frequents my ears

“Here with a loaf of bread

beneath the bough

A jug of wine

a book of verse

and Thou beside me singing

in the wilderness

And wilderness is paradise now”

When Omar Khyyam sings

Wilderness becomes paradise

Who says paradise is not on earth

My nagging fingers

started writing

The ink flowed through

the passage of my being

Sir, you were not that pessimistic, ever. A snippet occurred to my memory as I read “Ink flowed through the passage of me. I remembered someone saying “Death was proceeding towards me and I too was proceeding towards since decades”. I can’t correlate the two but it just popped up.
Omar sought bliss in a delightful company. We are here to give you a more interesting company.
Tell me not in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream !!!
    Regards

Hey friend, some of your thoughts are entirely a blessing from Omar Khayyam … and this one was a tribute to him too. But, got struck with ’somnambulistic’! :( … hope you will help me get out from that one!!

Today’s world is suffering from somnabulism. There are so many factors right from regionalism, dirty politics, corrupted practices in all walks of life and now the after effect of recession etc. The status of most of us are near to sleep walk arising out of somnabulism.
