A team of American astronomers have for the first time analysed the atmosphere of a planet outside of our solar system. They have done this by measuring its infrared emissions, according to a study published on Wednessday.
The scientists found traces of silicate dust, probably in high altitude clouds of a super-hot planet orbitting close to sun-like star.
By measuring the changes in emission of infrared, or heat, waves as the planet passes in front of and then behind the sun, astronomers can identify specific elements on its surface and its atmosphere.
After scientists have been dissapointed upto now with regards to life on Mars, is there any remote possibility of some interesting discovery here?
