IBIBO Friends Please Rectify

I have come across a new addition in the Blog category known as Gandhigiri, which was not there initially. Though I am seeing it for quite some time now, I thought that it might be a temporary addition and could be removed by IBIBO after some time. But it has never happened and this category is continued to be reflected there.

 

 

 

            

 

Since, we Indians consider Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi, fondly called as Bapu and known as Mahatma Gandhi world over, as the Father of the Nation, I personally feel that the use of this word is not proper; to refer to his Philosophy and Teachings. Our sentiments are being hurt; by referring to his philosophy, like this. 

 

It is quite unfair to term Gadhiji’s philosophy through this word. I believe that the use of this term is not in conformity with the Gandhian Philosophy and Gandhian Thoughts, which are being taught in our schools and colleges.

 

 

 

                     

  

 

 

For the sake of saying or discussion, it may not give that disheartening affect. But, being an internationally famous Blog site, it attracts writers all over the world, so including this as a category is certainly not spreading a good signal. By doing this, we are unable to understand, that we are showing scant respect towards the teachings, preaching and philosophy of our Father of the Nation. Certainly we can not project his philosophy in such a manner.

 

 

 

                 

 

 

I might add that I heard, that there was some Public Interest Litigation petition (PIL) filed in some courts in the country, against the use of this word in the film Lagey Raho Munna Bhai. The use of this word, in lieu of Gandhian Philosophy was strongly protested and debated in the country. 

 

I sincerely request our friends at IBIBO to remove this category. Replace it with the category of GANDHIAN PHILOSOPHY, if you wish.

    I share your concern. But I also feel if such a term can take Gandhi’s teachings to the grassroots level and make the man on the street talk about it, maybe, we can overlook certain sentiments attached with the man himself.
