LUCKNOW: The relative of a Samajwadi Party MLA created a ruckus at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil hospital here on Monday.

The patient was ordered to get a CT scan done. To get some concession, he took out the MLA’s notepad and filled in the details and signed in the MLA’s name. When the doctor objected, he was threatened and man-handled by the patient and his supporters.

Awadesh, a patient suffering from some cardio ailments, was admitted to the civil hospital. Dr RK Mishra, a consultant and cardiologist, who was attending on him, advised him to get a CT scan done.

Awadesh told the doctor that he was related to SP MLA, Nandita Shukla, and asked if he could get a concession. The doctor reportedly told him that if the MLA vouched for him in writing, he could.

At this point, Awdesh took out a letter-head belonging to Shukla and wrote down the request for a free CT Scan. He also signed in the MLA’s name.

Dr Mishra objected to this misuse of rules and said that the application was forged and hence not acceptable. Awadesh and his supporters who were present at the spot, manhandled Dr Mishra.

When the situation got out of hand, police were informed. An FIR has been lodged in this connection with Hazratganj police station against Awdesh for forgery, issuing threats and disrupting official work.
