Zen and the art of digital photography

July 11th, 2008 | by Lifeisfun
A few weeks back on a sunny but sultry Sunday morning, on waking up, I noticed that Chin and Joy were missing. Taking my time, I got up and then went about setting up the house that we had just begun to get in shape. After an hour or so of my noticing their absence, both came in sweating profusely. I still had no idea what they were up to. What I learnt later actually reminded me of the book " Zen and the art of Motorcycle maintenance " by Robert M Prisig. The similarity of the situation with the book was the antics of a father and son. That day will go down in my memoires as Joy’s baptism into Digital Photography. Our new home has lovely front lawns and the previous occupant had taken real good care. We have employed the same gardener who has become famous in the locality for the lawns that he maintains. Chin had freaked out on that Sunday on digital macro photography and for the first time perhaps he seriously explored the potential of the Digital camera that he had handed over to me a few years back. Actually, he was photographing the countless butterflies and insects and Joy had pestered him to let him also join in the Fun. That is how Joy got his first few lessons on macro Photography and I was amazed at the results. I am posting here some of the snaps he took. Hope you like them.
