Configure BSNL Dataone on Ubuntu and Fedora Linux



I am using UT300R2U dsl modem. I have configured BSNL dsl broadband on Ubuntu and Fedora Linux and the connection is rocking.

 

Let us first see how to configure BSNL Dataone on Ubuntu linux.

1. Login to your X-windows desktop as root.

2. Open a Terminal.

3. Type in the command pppoeconf in the terminal and hit enter.

4. Provide the information required by the program.

5. Program will now ask for your username as shown in the snapshot. So type in your BSNL username and click ok.

6.Now the program will ask you for the password. Type in the password in the space provided and click on OK.

7. Program will ask you for some settings. Accept the default values.

Now your BSNL Dataone Broadband connection is configured on Ubuntu Linux.

To connect to internet type the command pon dsl-provider and to disconnect type in the command poff

Please note that for BSNL Dataone connection configuration in Ubuntu and Fedora Linux you should have a working Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in your computer and BSNL Dataone modem should be connected to the computer using Ethernet cable.
