In 1985, 2 years after Soweto opened and became unsafe for whites to enter, 1448 blacks protested, threatning to jump into those 2 big chimney things if Apartheid did not end (hahaha, fools… as if the white government gave a fuck if you died!). They jumped, and all died.

There has been much controversy regarding the inclusion of these towers in the Soweto purhcase by Zimbabwe, it is now official that the contract didn’t include any details of inclusion of the towers. It is speculated that the towers will be auctioned off to Lesotho, for reasons unknow to the public as of yet.

Robert Mugabe has offered R200 for the towers, however, the deal was rejected by future dictator, Thabo Mbeki.
